You too can find Atlantis on Google Earth

A tabloid in London claimed that an aeronautical engineer had found the infamous city while searching on Google Earth. London’s Sun even went so far as to say that it looked like it was in the location suggested by Plato. Thank goodness he was an aeronautical engineer. That clearly gives him credibility. Short lived credibility that is.
The bubble was quickly burst when a Google Spokeswoman explained how the image had been produced. The lines in the photo are actually the path that the boat took in creating the image.
Now I am really confused. The explanation doesn’t really make any sense when you look at the photo. If it was the path of the boat, why aren’t the lines coming and going in the image? And in other parts of the image? May be they talked to the wrong spokesperson at google.
